and today...

Well I did end up getting a call back and had my first potential nurse interview. It was an hour long. I was so nervous before I went. I had to work for the last three days including two night shifts. I got home at midnight monday from work and at 9am was my interview. So I had some trouble falling asleep but at least I got more sleep than the two nights before. This though did not help my nerves. I just wanted to cry and not go (don't ask how this is a functional trait in my life because I am trying to figure it out myself). Anyway I was tempted to drink lots of coffee, thank goodness I refrained otherwise I would of acted like a complete nervous idiot. The interview went well I think. There were lots of questions like "how did you prepare for this interview?" and "how in the past have you dealt with conflict?". What was different was that they gave me a case study to read over about a 85 year old woman, a list of her medication, family information and medical history. I had 10 minutes to read, prioritize her care, and make a comprehensive nursing care plan. We do this in class so I made a diagram and explained what I would do. They said I had addressed all the aspects they were looking for so that made me really proud. Now I just wait and keep looking for more jobs. The experience was great!

When life seemed easier

Life did not seem easier two weeks ago but now that my preceptorship is all done I find myself sitting around hoping to called for a job. I applied for about 4 and today I am really nervous because i haven't heard back. I don't really know what to do. I want to call the manager however it says that successful candidates will recieve a call back. Therefore i don't want to make them annoyed by calling and asking. But maybe then I will seem interested...... bbbah!
