Preceptor ship ing

My preceptorship for my final semester of nursing starts on Monday. I am going to the health office in Coaldale where I will find out what I will be doing. I am probably going to do some research for different grants and proposals. Another woman besides my preceptor does actual population work with the Kanadier Mennonites so I hope to be able to travel with her for a bit.
I thankfully have my voice back however it is a bit raspy (or sexy). I am excited to begin my prectorship. I have a feeling I will be a lot busier and learn a lot from my placement.

Guess who's back.... back again

Yes its back! My voice returned to me this morning when I woke up. I could talk sing and hum out loud for the world to hear. And the world did hear... Yes, the world did hear.

No Voice

I am not being political right now, I literally have no voice. I sound like a hinge that needs WD40. I love WD40 it works so well. Probably would not work on my voice though.

"Transition" Week

It is late Sunday evening. I just got home from another quiet shift at work. I was able to finish season two of six feet under, watch born in a brothel (don't know if that is the title) featuring children born into brothels in the redlight district of Culcutta, watched alot of news and read my book "a Thousand Splendid Suns" by Khaled Hosseini. Its a great read!
This week I am not up too a whole lot. I want to read a book on Kanadier Mennonite health beliefs, get some preliminary assignments done for nursing, go the gym, and play WII. And so far this is looking really managable for over the next 7 days.

achey achey bones

What!? Am I getting old? My muscles and bones hurt today. I want to crack every single joint in my body but they are not cracking. arrrgh. So instead I go and have a nap wake up for some cookies and hopefully go to bed nice and early. I don't know. Maybe I should not try to get in shape all in two days. haha. Or else some virus going around. Obviously it is not too bad otherwise I would not be writing on my blog.
So I am getting ready for my practicum as per previous posts. Now I am also going to do some work in a fall prevention program. Definitly did not sign up for that however I am excited to be part of it. I think there was some scheduling issues and this lady wanted a student to be involved in the falls program and my instructor asked if I was interested. I think if I can do some teaching on falls that would be great.

wow I will be a nurse soon

This is my second week of orientation for my last semester of nursing! Holy comoly! Its freaky being in school for so long knowing that this is what it was for. To actually work and (and being the operative word here) and get a paycheck! Yikeserama! See all this is making me make up new words!

Do I even remember how to do this?

Well its a Saturday evening and I came home a little early and did not know what to do. I checked facebook and did some creeping and now I thought I should give my blog some attention. This is not entirely my idea. Tavis has been talking about renewing his old relationship with his blog. So I too am inspired.
Tonight was a very fun evening. With great friends the Shard, Tavis and I went for a cruise in Shard's new car with thier hot new cell phone to see the house they are building. Sweet times! Then we went for dinner which we finished remarkably fast. Finally we went to the banff Film Festival. So cool. Everything from powder skiing in India, base jumping all over the world, deep water rock climbing, and kite skiing or boarding. So cool. I loved it because they films were quite personable to people pursuing these sports. Plus it is absolutley incredible seeing people do these sports. It strikes me that it is worth finding adventure and just doing something a little scary. This for me definitley does not include base jumping. My heart rate has increased just thinking about it!
